I have a very annoying cowlick and generally like my hair cut as short as possible. There is no history of baldness in my family but I was wondering if there is a way to provoke baldness seeing as how I don’t like having to get a haircut every couple weeks because I have a cowlick and I don’t want to shave my head every other day.
I know this is a ridiculously moronic question but I’m just curious.
My cowlick is at the front part of my hair and gets worse no matter how long I wait before getting my hair cut.
My problem is my hair grows ridiculously fast. About a week and a half after getting my hair cut the cowlick is back.

I am young (twenty, in fact) and I do not have any signs of hair loss (knock on wood), but I would like to know more about baldness in general. My mother’s father is bald (and has been for a long-long-long-long time). My father has a very nice, full head of hair (although many of his family members have gone bald).
