I been depressed for a long time now. Years and years. Im 21 now. During the day im happy, with spells of depression all throughout, but at evenings and night, its pure depression and self hate.Havnt made friends tho im working on that, tried talkin to parents, they think im blamin depression for my weird behaviour and irratibility. Recently ive started having my hair thinning all over. Its not drastically noticable unless i apply gel or im out of the shower. Ive started taken more care about my hair, and planning to stop using shampoos that arent natural, also using hypnosis cds to help relax. But this hair loss was the last straw. I cant take it. I know worrying is worse, but theres no cure. I already think im ugly and i hate myself, even tho i know ppl dont think exactly the same about me. I just dont know what to do anymore. I am one step away from sucicide. I have no help. and i know there will be no help for my hair loss.

My sister 27 yrs old has been experiencing thinning of hair and hair loss since 3 yrs. (possibly triggered off by stress and dieting).Her test results of hormones ,blood , sugar etc r normal . Dermotologists prescribed Minoxidil /Mintop .This was of little help and the hair growth is reversible once the medicine is stopped . Is there any cure for this condition

I have thinning hair (female pattern baldness) around the crown area. I am 35 years old and have been dealing with this condition for some time, but it is very depressing to see my hair gradually thin over the years.
I remember that several years ago, a doctor told me that I had/have Poly Ovarian Cystic Syndrome, and I found out that hair loss is a symptom of POCS.
Is it possible that my hair loss will stop, if I get the POCS treated? Is it possible that my hair will grow back?

Hello , I need some advice, I started taking drug for over active bladder and it has worked great! But one of the side affects was constipation, so I started taking a drug for that, and boom! back in business, but one of the side affects of that drug was blurred vision so I started taking a drug for blurred vision and things really cleared up!
One of the side effects of that drug was hives, and sure enough I got hives! So back to the doctor and he gave me a prescription for hives, and great the hives cleared right up! Unfortunately one of the side effects of that drug was hair loss! Once my hair started coming out in clumps I rushed to the doctor for something to cure the hair loss. He prescribed a drug for it and I stopped losing my hair! And as you guessed it one of the side effects was loss of bladder control! I am right back where I started from!

I didn’t think much of me pulling my hair, I just thought it was a bad habit. But it’s getting worse. I have noticable hair loss day by day. And thinking about it just makes me want to pull out all of my hair. When I can’t pull my hair I usually dig my nails in my skin. But that doesn’t help relieve stress like pulling my hair does. My sisters have beautiful, long, thick hair. And it sucks.

Okay, i’ve been doing some research on the topic of MPB and possible future cures, and from what I understand, MPB starts when Testosterone is converted into DHT. And it is heavily believed that hair loss is genetically influenced (meaning that it can be passed down to you from either sides of the family). BUT, what if DHT is the only thing genetic? Think about it…Why is it that women rarely suffer from hair loss or Female Pattern Baldness (I’m not saying all women, but a lot.)? And if a woman is suffering from hair loss, it’s mainly because her Testosterone level is high…Anyways, to make a long story short, the female hormone is estrogen = Hair growth… In order for men to grow their hair back, they would need to block their DHT levels of converted Testosterone and influence them with Estrogen… I mean think about it, the only way it has been said that a man would be able to grow his hair back is castrate himself (which is totally not worth it…lol) But do ya’ll understand where I’m coming from? What do ya’ll think?

I worry about everything constantly from the moment I wake up to the minute I go to bed. Ive had so much hair loss from stress. And when Im not worried, Im depressed. I’m a 19 yr old girl – for the past few years, I have gotten periods of time where the top of my scalp (from forehead to top mostly along where I part my hair) gets very red & itches. People keep saying that the medical industry made huge advances and that things are getting better,
but whenever I visit my local ER, or specialist or primary care physician,….they don’t seem to be very knowledgeable at all, care more about their big SUV and shallow small talk, and generally just don’t seem to know much about anything really, it’s scary.
